On March 20, 2024, a new laboratory specializing in navigation technologies was inaugurated in Debrecen, Hungary. Born from a collaboration between Emerson NI’s test and measurement teams and ESA within the framework of the NAVISP program for Navigation Innovation and Support, this project meets the challenges of developing and testing next-generation space systems. By leveraging Emerson’s industrial expertise alongside ESA’s innovative objectives, the laboratory aims to redefine industry standards in testing and validation to explore new frontiers in Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT).
The laboratory will provide hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing systems, employing the Stella GNSS 4-way simulator developed by M3 Systems, as demonstrated during the laboratory’s inauguration.
Indeed, M3 Systems and Emerson NI have woven strong ties as trusted partners. For more than 10 years, M3 Systems has been offering GNSS testing and validation solutions employing NI radio-software platforms. This collaboration has led to the development of a complete GNSS simulation solution, named Stella GNSS, meeting the requirements of the aerospace, defense, land transportation, and research domains.
