At M3 Systems Belgium we are working hard to make the complex air traffic flow and airspace management rules and system evolve to comply with environmental concerns and welcome new entrants.
About you and the Role
The M3 Systems Belgium team in Brussels is looking to add a UAV safety expert to the team to work on the safety aspects related to UAVs in general and support the authorization process of our drone Boreal. Your expertise and experience will help ensure the Boreal drone can operate around the world in compliance to local safety requirements and also feed continuously our UAV R&D activity with latest safety rules and standards.
What you’ll do
- Act as the safety expert on all the UAVs related topics
- Be responsible to prepare, submit and monitor all the required documentation for UAV authorization, dealing directly with various Safety agencies
- Monitor UAV rule making and U–Space concept to support Boreal development and UAV related project in Europe
- Brings innovative approach to overcome technical or operational blocking points
- Work as a member of a team on broader European R&D projects related to UAV operations, demonstrations and USpace topics.
What you’ll bring
- Graduate in engineering (or equivalent Master Degree). Aeronautical engineer is an asset.
- Specialized Master in UAS safety management
- 2 years of working experience in the field of UAV safety is an asset
- A good understanding of the EASA SORA process
- Problem solver, able to troubleshoot issues independently or escalate when necessary
- High level of spoken and written English and French, presentation skills.
- Strong customer facing skills, interpersonal skills and organizational skills
- Adaptive, motivated and resourceful person
- Excellent technical communication skills to collaborate with other teams and stakeholders and to give quality feedback for continual product and processes improvement
- Office computer skills
- If you are non-European you have the permits to work in Belgium.
Other Nice to have
- UAV pilot license (A1, A2..)
- Knowledge of USPACE and UTM concepts
